Today, an estimated 25 million Americans practice Yoga as a means for managing stress, promoting health and creating a more meaningful life. Swami Satchidananda was one of the first Yoga masters to bring the ancient teachings of Yoga to the West and popularize its philosophy and practices. His role in the birth of the modern movement is chronicled in this hour-long documentary that informs, entertains and provokes self-inquiry. The distinctive teachings he brought with him blend the physical discipline of Yoga, the spiritual philosophy and the interfaith ideas he pioneered. The role of spirituality in wellness and the link between inner peace and outer peace is explored in the film by featured artists and medical experts.
